What is the working principle of the baghouse dust collector

Update Time: Page views:time

The working principle of a baghouse dust collector relies on the combined effects of filter bag interception, inertial collision and the ash cleaning system to achieve efficient dust separation and collection. Its core process can be divided into the following stages:

Core Working Principle

Dust Filtration Stage

When dust-laden gas enters the dust collector, large dust particles settle directly into the ash hopper under gravity. Fine dust flows into the filtration zone with the gas stream, and two main effects occur as it passes through the filter bags:

Inertial Collision: Dust particles collide with the filter bag fibers due to inertial force and are trapped;

Fiber Filtration: The special fiber structure of filter bags (such as PPS filter media) captures fine particles through physical blocking, and clean gas permeates through the filter bags and is discharged.

Ash Cleaning and Regeneration Stage

When dust accumulated on the filter bag surface causes the pressure difference to reach the set value (usually ≤1200Pa), the system automatically activates the ash cleaning device:

Pulse Jet Cleaning: Compressed air is released instantly through electromagnetic pulse valves, generating shock waves that violently vibrate the filter bags to shake off dust;

Pressure Difference Control: An intelligent control system is adopted to monitor resistance in real time and ensure accurate ash cleaning timing.

Emission Control

The dust concentration of purified gas can be reduced to ≤50mg/m³. Environmental monitoring is realized with the cooperation of emission concentration alarm devices and flow meters.

Key Technical Features

Dust Removal Efficiency: up to 99.99%;

Filter Media Selection: High-temperature resistant materials (such as Ryden needled felt resistant to 190℃) are adopted, with waterproof and oil-proof surface treatment;

Automatic Control: Remote monitoring and fault diagnosis are realized through PLC or industrial computers.

Through this cyclic mechanism of "interception - ash cleaning - purification", baghouse dust collectors are widely used in industries such as cement and electric power. Its core advantage lies in the coordinated cooperation between filter bag materials and the intelligent ash cleaning system.
